Critical Safety Guidelines:
Hummelstown
Field and Stream Association runs a COLD RANGE ! Any failure to
abide by this rule will result in disqualification. This means DO NOT handle handguns anywhere on
the grounds, except as follows. Only use a Safe Table
to case and uncase and/or handle, lube or repair handguns. Please
keep your handguns UNLOADED and CASED or holstered upon arrival and at all
times on the grounds. No Exceptions! DO NOT HANDLE FIREARMS AT YOUR
VEHICLE! If you wish to transition to a holster on the club grounds,
please bring your CASED and UNLOADED handgun to the Safe Table which will
be located in the clubhouse next to registration. NO AMMO is allowed
on a Safe Table! If you do not know where the Safe Table is – PLEASE
ASK! Your ammo may be handled and loaded into magazines or speed loaders
at any OTHER table or place EXCEPT a Safe Table. Once at a Safe Table you
may uncase and holster your UNLOADED firearm. Please keep your
magazine out of your handgun, and DO NOT remove your firearm from your
holster or attempt to load it until on the firing line and then only AFTER
you are specifically instructed to do so by the Safety Officer.
There will be another Safe Table down at the ranges and the same rules
apply there. Handguns in holsters must have the ACTION CLOSED and the
hammer down/decocked. Handguns in the case must be hammer down/decocked OR if you prefer to keep the action open you must use an Empty Chamber Indicator. DO NOT carry your handgun in your holster with the action open. DO NOT carry your handgun in your holster with a magazine inserted.
Prerequisites for shooting in our Steel Shoots:
In order to
participate in this shoot you need to be able to safely operate a handgun.
This means loading, firing, unloading and reloading during the course of
our. If you are uncomfortable safely operating a handgun you should NOT
participate in this shoot. If you are close to being able to doing this,
but need additional help, we recommend you come out and watch one and talk to
one of our volunteers about helping you prepare you for this type of shooting.
One Gun:
Shooters
may only have one (1) active firearm. This means one (1) firearm readily
available either in a holster or in your bag/box that you. It is OK to
bring a spare or back-up firearm. Or if
you intend to shoot both relays using different firearms. But keep those other firearms safely stowed
away in a separate box or bag – don’t wear it or bring to the firing line in
the same box with the one you are shooting.
Registration/Pre-registration:
Follow the
instructions in the shoot advertisement/announcement to Pre-Register, the
specific link will be in it for each shoot. It is handled through
the website http://shootnscoreit.com
You can also "search"
that website anytime for "Hummelstown" to find our shoots. And
Pre-registration IS PREFERRED! This saves us a lot of time on Shoot day.
All shooters must

check in. The pre-shoot briefing will be in the clubhouse and it starts 15
minutes prior to the shoot so please be on time. Everyone shooting must attend the pre-shoot
